Congratulations, you have selected the most advanced Hydrophilic Acrylic lens in the world today!  This lens is created by combining only the most absolute pure monomers into a polymer that is methodically and meticulously controlled to insure the most pure raw materials possible.  The raw material is more expensive that the materials used by other companies but it means a better, safer plastic.  The plastic is then lathe cut and tumble polished to remove any remaining free radicals.

When finished, the lens is absolutely the finest in the world and you can be assured by the fact that in the last six (6) years, more than 1.5 million implants have been performed with NO post surgical complications and no explants.  Curamed lenses will never turn white because the monomers are pure and simply will not change.  Compare the Curamed lens with your current hydrophilic acrylic and you will see the Curamed  lens is clear while the others are yellow.

All Curamed  lenses are built with "Memory FlexTM" and will gently unfold in the bag or into the capsular bag or sulcus depending on surgical preference.  However, capsular bag implantation is recommended for all Curamed  lenses.

Finally, you will also notice the exclusive elasticity and superior durability of the lens.  Go ahead, take a sample lens and tie it in a knot, it won't tear, rip or break like other lenses.  If you are a surgeon, implanting foldable for the first time, this lens is very user friendly and forgiving.  When other lenses break or tear, your Curamed lens will stretch and then return to its original shape.

Plate lens users will appreciate the fact that Dr. Korber in Germany has documented several plate lenses that were implanted with one broken haptic and yet the lens remains centered, against the back of the bag, allowing for superior visual acuity for patients.

NOTE:

(1)  It should be noted that Curamed does NOT recommend using ANY viscoelastic product that will  dry out the lens because it may damage the optic. If used, the lens should recover to its normal state within a few minutes or hours after surgery.  For example, using HEALONTM will modify the surface of the lens temporarily and according to the HEALONTM package insert, may damage the lens surface or deposit a film that may or may not come off.

(2)  As with any foldable lens, never use toothed forceps or toothed injectors and ALWAYS squeeze the lens from the edges and NOT from the optical surface or damage to the optic may occur.  Surgeons should take care and use a light touch when folding, inserting or injecting ANY foldable lens.
